The work of Nancy McClure Brockett reveals her Expressionism-style handling of vibrant and intense colors and reflects her experience of inspiration, transformation and healing. Through a process that has been described as "an odyssey of creativity," Brockett produces paintings rich in texture, color, and shape that draw the viewer into interaction.

Nancy McClure Brockett is a self-taught expressionist visual artist who has benefited from working with artists Marilyn Banner and Mary Gravelle in processes of painting "from the soul." Using oil stick, water soluble oil, acrylic, watercolor crayon, and tempera, Brockett produces paintings rich in texture, color, and shape that express and evoke emotions.

Since she began painting in 2001, Nancy has exhibited in venues in Connecticut including solo and group shows and numerous juried art exhibitions. Her work has been featured in the Hartford Courant, by the Greater New Britain Arts Alliance and the Downtown District of New Britain, CT. Her art hangs in private collections throughout the country.

Nancy is an active member of Art League of New Britain, Greater New Britain Arts Alliance. and New Haven Paint and Clay Club.

In addition to her larger pieces, Nancy designs customized hand-painted greeting cards for all occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, graduation, loss of a loved one, get well and personalized.) These fine art cards feature different pieces of original artwork that capture the occasion through expression and communicate a heart felt and spiritual message. Each card is a mini-piece of art that is suitable for framing.
